Homeschooling

When I mentioned homeschooling in my "daily life as a mom" video I had a lot of questions about homeschooling. Of course every homeschool curriculum is different, every mom/dad/teacher is different and every family is different. So, I thought I would share our homeschooling experience and how we do it. I know there are a lot of people who have thought about it or wondered what it was like so I hope you find this informative and helpful!

This is the video I did last year for the  411 Mommas about different kinds of schools we have sent our kids to and how we decided on what was best for our family.
We often get asked if we will homeschool forever, and that is honestly a question I don't know the answer to. We have 2 in school now and 2 not, so we don't really know what will happen in the upcoming years, but said we would decide each year what is best for our family as the time comes.
Hope this helps in your schooling decisions!! Remember that you can always decide to change what kind of school they are in and what is best for them and your lifestyle. Being a parent is hard and making these decisions is hard, I hear you!!!

SAHM of Four!

Sorry there is a glitch in the video in the beginning! (real life mom of four trying to edit a video right?!)

I get a lot of questions and requests to do a "day in the life" with my kids. I'm still not comfortable filming my kids in my home, but I thought I could share with you what a normal day is like and what our schedule is like, hope it is helpful!

Nuby Tear Free Rinse Pail

ok, I don't know what it is… but I feel like there are certain baby/kid products that I have been stubborn about "not needing". This would be one of them: The Tear Free Rinse Pail. I think I have looked at it from a distance a bajillion times, and even though my kids FREAK OUT when water gets in their eyes when I rinse their hair, I always thought "how different can it be than me just holding my hand over their forehead… right?? … wrong.
The silicone lip creates a seal that doesn't allow water to trickle down, unlike my hand that allows water to go off the sides into a V right into their eyes. And because I have my other hand free I can tilt their heads back while rinsing.

I gave my 2 year old a bath today after she decided to give herself a yogurt hair mask. I thought… well here goes nothing little pail, and voila!! hair rinsed, no freak out.
amazing.

Such a simple little thing, to make an every day task that much easier. Now there won't be any more screaming, and bath time will just be fun!!

Weaning Baby #4

So we did it. Successfully weaned baby #4. I have to say it was an emotional week for me, thankful for these Tommee Tippee bottles because they were the only ones he would take!!

I knew the day was coming when I would wean, but no matter how mentally and emotionally prepared you think you are… you're not, or maybe you are.. but I wasn't!!!

I wanted to share with you my weaning of baby #4 and how I dealt with not only my last feeding with him, but my last feeding EVER! waaahhhhh!!!!

Fell off the Fitness Wagon!

Gonna be honest.
I fell of the fitness wagon.
Yep. The brownies got the best of me. The past month or slow I've been working out less and eating worse. Honestly I didn't even care because it felt good to indulge.
BUT the last few days I've been feeling gross. You know when you eat too much candy and  you have that icky taste in the back of your mouth? yep. That's how I feel. I feel like I need to eat a bag of spinach and cleanse. I felt like I wasn't seeing much of a difference, but now that I have been  'indulging' I definitely do. My face has totally broken out and I look like a pre-teen acne face and my pants are getting tight and my muffin top has magically expanded. I decided I'm not going to feel bad about it though, I'm just going to change. AGAIN.
No excuses, no pity party. Just plain old, I'm back on it. So today I decided I'm gonna cut down (and when I say cut down, I mean I'm going to try to not drink soda anymore…but when I put a restriction I want it so I'm just gonna say cut down and try not to!haha!) on soda and drink only water. It is amazing how much sugar and non-nutritional ingredients are in drinks.. and I love my flavored teas and Coca Cola. So mama is going to make a change. Today. Right now. So this morning my husband and I started our day with a good HIIT work out and I told him we are doing it every day… and we will.
We did it before so we can do it again.
I have to remind myself that i didn't "undo" all my hard work from before. I am at a totally different starting point and that my body WANTS to be healthy.
So I feel motivated again to resume my healthy lifestyle.
My goal is to be at my very best at 35… and that is coming up in a month!!

Vacation Hacks!

We were on vacation the other week and I posted this picture on instagram and thought I would share!
If you have kids, the beach is a scary place. Sand everywhere, means sand…. everywhere. Fingers, toes, buttcracks… everywhere!!
Some kids don't mind, while other kids freak out. My solution, baby powder. You can get the huge tub at Walmart for under $2 and it seriously is a life saver. Just dump a generous amount on whatever body part you are trying to get the sand off, and it brushes off like a dream. Also, it's easier the drier the sand is… but it works on damp sand too.

I also realized that I had left my face wash at home, and I am one of those people that can NOT go to bed with out washing my face. Discovered another little vacation hack so I thought I would share!

Vlog: Disneyland!

Why and how does time go by so fast?! I need to do more "home videos" of my kids. I realize that they are growing so fast and I can't stop it. I need to be more intentional about capturing them at different stages in life. So… I'm going to try to vlog on the go more. I just don't ever want it to interrupt my time and me miss moments, trying to capture moments. You know what I mean?
We took a little trip to disneyland the other day, here's a little snippet!
