The dashing red dye may look great on your hair, but it can also set off a red rash all over your face. An estimated 5 percent of folks who try permanent hair dye end up with some type of allergic reaction, according to an article at HealthHype.com. Those reactions come in several forms and can be treated in several ways.
Contact Dermatitis
Itchy red and scaly skin, a rash and burning sensations can be symptoms of contact dermatitis. When caused by hair dye, these symptoms usually crop up at the hairline, tips of the ears and sensitive facial areas, such as the eyelids. It can also spread to other facial areas, the neck and even the hands, if the latter were not properly protected when handling the dye. On its first outbreak, symptoms can take up to 10 days to show up, but they will appear more quickly if the same dye is used again.
Contact Urticaria
Swollen eyelids and red skin can be a sign of contact urticaria. This condition comes with a more severe reaction than dermatitis and can often include red, scaly patches that spread across the entire body. It may be accompanied by sneezing and wheezing, having a hard time swallowing and even vomiting. Symptoms can show up immediately upon contact or take as long as an hour to appear.
Anaphylactic Shock
While anaphylactic shock is rare as a result of hair dye, it is potentially deadly. Immediate symptoms include swelling of the face, eyelids and lips; shortness of and gasping for breath; and a plummeting blood pressure. Immediate medical assistance is required.
Prevention/Solution
Taking the time to do an allergy test with hair dye, as suggested on the box, is not an exercise in futility. Although allergic reactions are rare, they can be reduced even further when a small amount of dye is applied to a sensitive area, such as the inner arm, and waiting 24 to 48 hours to determine if a reaction occurs. This test may not catch every potential reaction, but it can save much grief for many.
Treatment
Rinsing the scalp and washing with a gentle shampoo, followed by a 2 percent hydrogen peroxide solution, can help alleviate the allergic reaction, HealthHype.com said. You can also purchase over-the-counter skin salves to lessen the itching or visit a dermatologist for a more potent prescription ointment.
there is no ventilation in there so there was mold growing on the old paint. so after de-molding. i bought some KILZ one coat paint. it has the primer built in and promises to cover in one coat. even over dark colors.
the bathroom was painted a royal blue. from bottom to top, including the ceiling....
i wish i took a picture before and during, but here is one from when we were looking at the house to buy it.. you can see a crack of the bathroom
so what i did was paint the ceiling in 'boysenberry" and painting random lines across the walls. let it dry and then covered the lines in tape. then i painted the walls in 'pigeon'....peel.. and this is what it looks like now.
did you know it was scientifically proven that the brain releases a chemical when you are in anticipation of finding a good deal? i believe it. i am the biggest deal finder alive. 75% off isn't good enough. i need like 75% off with an additional 75% off the already reduced price. and then i get SUPER excited.

it is 50%-90% off top name brands. no joke! my new obsession is looking through everything.. even if i don't buy anything its fun to go "oh my goodness, that's so cheap! oh my goodness... that is such a good deal!"
I was feeling a little blue today... and so I just started to list of all the things I was thankful for... there are so many! So in an attitude of gratitude... I'm gonna share some more!
This is a pre-made eyeshadow quad made frome the Mark. i-mark eyeshadows. These are colors I love and that will look good on anyone! There is a white, pink, purple and smokey grey.
so to enter... you have to go to my youtube channel below, subscribe...and in the comment box write one thing you are thankful for today!
This is part of the 'in the groove' collection and I love it! Its a rosy/plum-ish color with golden specks. and even though it is shimmery, its not overly frosty or 'sparkly'. If you've used any of the other skin finishes, the consistency is similar. very soft...so you don't need a lot. just a little dab dab and you're ready to go! You can use it all over for color, highlight..but I use it as a blush.I feel like it improves the look of my skin too. must be the minerals! now show off those cheekbones!!!
unconditional love truth air conditioning contact lenses faithful friends kisses from my babies a gentle hand on my shoulder chalk ink laughter music silly made up songs forgiveness vivid dreams another day....
Ok so I am basically bald on my eyes.. so if I can actually see my eyelashes, then I've succeeded!
I got it in Very Black Waterproof, because eye makeup smudges all over the place on me and I'm a mess before I even leave.
left eye done, right eye not.. obviously.. or maybe not so obvious! hahaha
here is one closer up in case you couldn't see my pores.
and done!
It is nice too, when you wash it off it comes off in little tubes rather than smudging all over the place... so all in all.. me likey!
i have to say it doesnt warrant the name falsies, cuz girl.. if these were false eyelashes I'd get a refund. BUT for my real eyelashes, its pretty good!
I ordered some Dueba circle lenses in brown and in grey from pinky paradise...
I could not wait to get them!
BUT
the first time I wore them I came home to a bloody, red, irritated, and inflamed eye. I wasn't sure if if was because of the lens itself or if I had maybe scratched my eye, irritated it some other way, or had some kind of infection. I took them out and didn't put them back in. It took about a week to clear up. Once my eyes were clear I decided to try them again (they are actually quite comfortable and I love how they look) to see if it WAS in fact the lenses or some other reason.
sadly, it IS the lenses. I wish I took a picture that day, as my eyes were both blood shot pretty bad.
This picture is taken 4 days after the second time....
I tried to contact Pinky Paradise, but have not heard back from them. :(
I have been wearing contact lenses for 17 years and have never had a problem. total bummer....
I love how they look, but not at the expense of losing my sight!
Look what I found at a Walgreens in the middle of nowhere...
I absolutely love these!
not only are they cute, they feel so good on your lips...and they really do make them smooth!
100% natural
Spheres
summerfruit-smells so good, but not too strong :)
sweet mint
honeysuckle
Lemon Drop
Sticks
sweet mint
Vanilla bean
Pomegranate- Rasperry
I have only bought the spheres as I haven't seen the sticks in anywhere yet.
the actual sphere is hard but kind of soft/squishy.
What I love is that there is an inner vacuum seal, i don't know if this is why they did it....BUT i left mine in the car on a hot summer's day and it didn't melt all over. I think the inner seal keeps its shape!
i've been really wanting to re-paint some of my furniture. starting with my kitchen cabinets... i need some more time, space... and inspiration first.
This dresser is so cool! Paint the dresser white and then the drawers are actually wrapping paper!
you glue the paper on and then set with modge podge!
so on this quest of creativity i painted my daughter's little dressers, in the middle of the night in a dark garage. Probably not the best in retrospect.
