Flowery Nails

I did these easy flowery nails the other day for the first time and they turned out pretty good!

You can use any base color/flower colors... I just liked these together.

1. Paint a base color
2. On a piece of paper dab 2 colors next to each other
3. Using a dotting tool/ball point pen or toothpick swirl the colors together
4. make little "C" shaped curves onto your nail to create petals
5. use a highlight color ( I used this pearly white) to accentuate the petals
5. Dot a dark color for leaves and drag the toothpick/dotting tool through it so that it makes a elongated circle.
and DONE!

Easy 2 Swipe Heart Manicure

Posted this picture of this super simple heart tip manicure the other day on Instagram.
People think its much harder than it is. Really you just use the shape of the brush of your nailpolish.
I like the Sally Hansen Salon Manicure polishes because the brush is more round than square.

1. you can start with a bare nail or with a base color
2. starting about halfway down, swipe making a V shape to the end of your nail one way
3. swipe the other side to complete the V.
Voila! you are done!
If you have stripers or striping brushes you can always outline the heart as well.
Enjoy!

39 weeks and counting...

So here I am at 39 weeks. I really truly didn't believe I would make it to 39 weeks...but here I am.
I feel like my stomach is going to explode. I feel him kicking right under my boobs, and at the same time I feel a thump thump in my butt.
ugh.
Every day I feel like "today is the day!" and then every night I think "tonight is the night!" and then I wake up in the morning thinking "dangit, I'm still pregnant!"

On my way to my 39 week appointment and hoping for something good. With my 2nd I was at my 38 week appointment when they said "oh, you're 4 cm you can go to labor and delivery" so I'm crossing my fingers for one of those!! If not, hopefully they will strip my membranes and get this show on the road!!!

This weeks symptoms:
heart burn
major pressure
hemorrhoids, yes.. they are there
sleeplessness
backache
tired
sore legs and arms
frequent bm
hard to breathe

Praying my next post is showing you my little man!

Labor Pending...

I didn't sleep a wink last night. Tossing and turning, groaning and moaning. Between the discomfort of my big belly, back pain and contractions.... I seriously thought my water was going to break.
I've been sleeping on a child's waterproof potty training pad every night...
morning is here... still pregnant.

I haven't blogged or made a video in a while for many reasons. Mainly because I didn't want to be negative or be grouch and especially YouTube has become a place where people feel the need to leave negative, dumb comments... which makes me want to just throw in the towel. I've always wanted this to be a positive place....but girl... It might go there today.

I feel like I've been going in a circle of feeling discouraged, anxious, hurt, mad and disappointed about so  many things. Definitely my emotions are heightened, but I wish they were heightened the other way... rainbows and butterflies. that's what I need.

I am google queen. I google everything. I am every doctor's worst nightmare. The self diagnosing and 'searching' would drive any doctor mad. Waltzing in to appointments like I know it all... like THEY who went to medical school could have just stayed home and googled instead of spending all that money and time in school. haha!!

anyways.. my favorite this week is " _________ sign of labor soon?" fill in the blank with: cranky, hungry, headache, backache, overgrown lawn, nailpolish smudged, craving ice cream" you name, I google it.

The reality is, no one knows when baby will arrive. I was 3 cm dilated with my second for almost 3 weeks... so the numbers don't mean anything.
so the whole "oh you're still pregnant? when do you think you'll go into labor?"
or
"do you think you'll have the baby this week?" questions are getting PRETTY lame.

I think I'll have this baby before Christmas.... that is my answer.

so with that said, my last google search was "extreme irritability, sign of labor soon?"

Things You Should Never Say to a Pregnant Woman

Sometimes it hurts your feelings, sometimes it makes you mad...and sometimes you have to just laugh.

There are so many things I have heard while being pregnant where I go "really?! did they just say that?"
Some of these things might not bother some people...but I thought this would be a funny compilation to put together, so I asked some people what kinds of things people 'should never say to a pregnant person'.
Hope it makes you laugh... if you have any more please feel free to comment!!

***
"Your face looks pregnant"- Rebekah A.

"Oh stand next to me (while taking a picture) I'll look skinnier"

"oh you're having a girl, girl's steal your beauty" - Jane P.

"Oh you are definitely having a boy/girl no matter what the ultrasound says. I know I've been right x amount of times"-Christina V.

"You're HUGE! How much weight have you gained?!" - Michelle P

"oh your kids will probably be retarded, if not them... their kids. That's why you don't mix races"

"your daughter is going to look like a dumpling, because that is all you've been craving"- DG Y.

"You even look pregnant from the back!" -Holly E.

"Oh wow, You're eating again?!"

"did you WANT to have another baby?"

"you're body is never going to look the same again"

"Wow, you're about to pop... how many days do you lave left?"...uhh... 2 months actually.. but thanks - Mandy B.

"When are you due?" "uh... I'm not pregnant" - Cherri G.

"you know, having kids is really expensive..."

"You look horrible. Are you feeling okay?"

"I only gained 10 pounds when I was pregnant"

"You shouldn't be doing that... its bad for the baby..." Christina V.

"You're so big, are you having twins?!" - Christina V.

"you look very heavy"

"wow, you're really retaining water" -Sara P.

"does everyone get a lot of cellulite when they are pregnant?"

"are you sure you should eat that?"

"Oh, my delivery was horrible, let me tell you my horror story..." -Christina V.

"How many kids is this? oh... do you guys not believe in birth control?"

"maybe you should start exercising"

"you're feet/face/legs/butt/arms are so swollen!"

"wow, you're huge!! how much longer do you have?" Jamie J.

"it must be hard finding things to wear huh?"

"are you sure its not twins?" - Sara P

"oh the third (or whatever number that you are on) is the hardest" -Christina V.

words you should avoid:
huge, heavy, big. holy cow, oh my god, jeez, fat, swollen, ginormous, diet, exercise

There is probably so many more... please share!

Packing my hospital bag

Yesterday I washed some of baby #4's clothes and blankets to take to the hospital with me and started packing my hospital bag.
I feel so much less organized and 'ready' than I did with the others... maybe its just because I HAVE the others!

I thought I would dig up an old "what to take to the hospital" video I did when I was getting ready to go into labor with baby #3.

Hope it is helpful to all you mama's that are pregnant!
